KSAMLA wish to assure its Affiliates, friends, and well wishers that there are five double-headers and a lone game on in this Sunday, May 18 Round 7 of the NCB 24 Hour Top-Up Masters League.

No doubt you are aware of the incident of indiscipline that marred a fine masters league game at the Constant Spring Oval last Sunday. In a game described by many onlookers as a wonderful display of efficient masters football, Constant Spring held on to win 2-1 over the 2008 league favorites, Pelicans. Unfortunately, the Manager and Coach of Pelicans reportedly verbally and physically abused the game officials.

After a review of the Referee’s report, the Match Inspector’s report, and the report of the registered Pelicans Manager, KSAMLA expelled Pelicans from the League for bringing the game into disrepute, and also suspended them from competition in 2009. The Manager and the Coach of Pelicans were both referred to the KSAMLA Disciplinary Committee for further action.

We wish to remind the participating Affiliates that each team involved in a game must have two (2) clearly identifiable officials at that game to assist the game officials with matters of the security of the game.

KSAMLA take this opportunity to reiterate that affiliated teams participating in the NCB 24 Hour Top-Up Masters League are responsible for the conduct and behavior of their officials, players, and supporters. And, in accordance with KSAMLA’s policy of zero-tolerance to acts of indiscipline and physical violence against game officials by players, team officials, and team supporters, affiliated teams who fail to shoulder this very important responsibility will invariably be suspended, forthwith, from all KSAMLA competitions, and will not be invited to any subsequent edition of the League until the Executive Committee sees fit.
