SEAN Fraser hunts his eighth goal today when his club Alianza FC travel to Vista Hermosa in their El Salvador Primera Division Clausura 2011-2012 match at Estadio Correcaminos in San Franciso Gotera, Morazan. The 29-year-old striker, who has been playing overseas since 2006 when he left Harbour View FC for greener pastures, is the third leading scorer so far in the El Salvador top division with seven goals, along with Cesar Larios of UES, Juan Lazo Cruz of Once Municipal and Alex Erazo of Juventud Independiente.
Only Nicolas Munoz of Aguila (nine goals), and Anel Canales of Luis Angel Firpo (eight goals) are ahead of Fraser, who has not played for the Reggae Boyz since 2008.
Despite having eight caps and no goals for the Boyz, Fraser who represented Jamaica at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in 2001 and FIFA Under-17 World Cup in 1999, has been on top of his game in the past two years.
Last season, Fraser netted 15 goals for Once Municipal in the Apertura 2011 of the El Salvador Primera Division. Once Municipal lost 0-1 to Isidro Metapan in the final. Now, he is on target for another double figure in goals this season which will end mid-year in El Salvador.
Fraser, who scored his seventh goal on Wednesday in Alianza 3-3 draw with second-placed Firpo, has started in all his 11 matches this season (four times substituted) to log 916 minutes this season. Alianza, however, are in ninth place in the 10-team league.
