Harbour View FC mid-field maestro, Jermaine Hue, becomes eligible to play competitive football again after his nine-month drug ban ends on May 6, which means he is available for the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) semi-finals.

Clyde Jureidini, Harbour View’s general manager, confirmed that Hue will be eligible when his suspension, handed down by FIFA after Hue tested positive for dexamethasone, ends next week.

“He (Hue) will be available to represent Harbour View. However, he has some personal obligations overseas to sort out. And he will also have to prove that he is fit to compete. Then it’s up to the coach to make a decision,” Jureidini told The Gleaner yesterday morning.

“Jermaine has been training on and off, so, hopefully, he will have a chance to show his talent on the pitch again,” Jureidini added.

Hue could boost defending champions Harbour View’s chances of retaining the RSPL title when the semi-final first-leg kicks off on May 12. The second leg is scheduled for three days later at a venue to be named.

Hue, who turns 36 in June, tested positive when Jamaica lost their World Cup qualifier against Honduras away on June 11, 2013.
