One a day when the first ever LIVE Internet Streaming was viewed simultaneously on the Harbour View website at www.hvfc.net while being beamed on TVJ, the Caribbean Club Champions marched to a convincing win over Clarendon flag-bearers, Sporting Central Academy.

National Head Coach, John Barnes, Digicel head, Mrs. Shelly Ann Curran and HVFC Chairman, Carvel Stewart all met the teams before the game. Halftime entertainment by League Sponsors Digicel with Kick-for- Goals, Credit Speed Dialing all assisted by the cheerful Ladies and music from the mobile Disco all added fun elements to the party atmosphere.

300 Giveaways, Gifts and Prizes to paying patrons from Club Sponsor Adidas and Western Union added spice to the event as the rains stayed away for the afternoon.

The Internet “Test Projects” had its problems at the start as it searched widely for a platform to launch but soon found its footing on the website and so too Harbour View who stroked the ball around the park seemingly in defense, midfield but over-possessing in an effort to pry open spaces at the back of the visitors team but not penetrating early the supporters worried about scoring.

A continuous process of “Cat-n-Mouse” was to pull the eager visitors out of their staid defensive formation to slip through the cracks but still no goals, the “faint of heart” worried more as the shouts of “goal we want” echoed from spots in the stadium,

Jermaine Hue missed a sitter when he hit outside the upright as he combined well with Rafiek Thomas outside the penalty area leaving the half scoreless.

Patiently the block was unclogged early in the second half when a corner was swung in from the right that bobbled across heads before the flick-on found defender Lennox Wright inside the box to head past the grasping goalkeeper, to score his first ever goal for the senior team in minute 49.

Harbour View 1 Sporting Central 0.

The “Cat now firmly amongst the Pigeons” ball possession increased inside the opponents half with telling effect and constant penetration, now the test was at hand.

Then a slick three man combination saw Kavin Bryan setup Keith Kelly but his decision to blast rather than stare wide of the goalkeeper prove in-correct.

Substitutions followed as Keith Kelly returning from injury was replaced in the 62nd minute by Marcelino Blackburn as the game quickened, immediately.

Lovel Palmer returning after three games from injury missed a six yards tap-in in his effort to be too careful not to miss. Hue released Blackburn down the left-side of the penalty area but his shot was hit over the crossbar.

The teasing of the opponents through continuous ball possession frustrated the visitors no end, so it came as no surprise as the infringements increased getting the appropriate responses from Referee Dwight Royal as Cautions were issued with regularity.

Substitute Jomo Gordon received the fifth pass just inside the area on the right to evade his marker and slide it past goalkeeper, Erron Brown to register his first goal this season.

The distance between both teams now established the “Stars of the East” opened the gapping hole even wider but not so the scoreline as the game was halted after adding three minutes, Harbour View had added three points to remain top of the DPL on 20 points and a good chance to make the End of First Round Finals on November 23rd, 2008.
