With just two round of games left in the Coca-Cola National U-21 Premier League, Harbour View are poised to lift the championship crown from Portmore United as they need only a draw from their two remaining games against Tivoli Gardens and Arnett Gardens, respectively, to snatch the title. The Stars of the East are six points clear at the top of the standing and are playing very well at the moment.

On Friday, Harbour View journey to the Edward Seaga Stadium to tackle Tivoli Gardens at 5:00 pm, and can clinch the title there with a win or a draw. In their first round meeting, HVFC defeated Tivoli Gardens 2-1 at the Compound.

U-21 Standings

Portmore United squandered their chance to retain the U-21 title last week when they failed to breach the strong Harbour View defense at home after the rivals played to a pulsating 0-0 draw. This Friday, Portmore United is away to Arnett Gardens at the Tony Spaulding Complex (5:00 pm) and should have little difficulty taking all three points based on their current form. Interestingly, Arnett Gardens spanked Portmore United 2-1 in the champions own back-yard in the first round.

Boy’s Town host third place St. George’s at Collie Smith Drive at 3:30 pm, and will try to avenge the 1-0 lost they suffered at Lynch Park in the first round at the hands of STGC.

Sixth place Sporting Central Academy await bottom-of-the-table August Town at Brancourt at 3:30 pm, and an expected win can push Sporting up the standing to third place should St. George’s lose to the Red Brigade. Sporting edged August Town 2-1 in the first round.

Reno meets Seba United at Frome at 3:30 pm, and will try complete the sweep having tagged Seba 1-0 in their first round encounter.

The once red-hot Waterhouse welcome Village United at the Drewsland Stadium at 4:00 pm. After looking like title contenders a few rounds back, Waterhouse fizzled to fifth in the tables, and a loss to Village United on Friday could see them slipping even further down the standings. Waterhouse were held to a 0-0 draw in the first round.

In the golden boot race, Waterhouse’s Jahmali Spence still leads the pack with 12 goals, but Andre Fagan of Harbour View is second with 8 goals and can make a race of it. Both Craig Hunter of Arnett Gardens, and Levaughn Williams of Sporting Central are third with 7 goals each.

Coca-Cola U-21 Schedule, Friday April 25

In last Friday’s games, St. George’s stopped Waterhouse 3-2, Seba United and Arnett Gardens played to a 2-2 draw. Heron Streete scored a brace for Seba United. Reno swamped August Town 4-1 on a double by Evan Taylor, Sporting Central easily tagged Village United 4-1, Tivoli Gardens shutout Boy’s Town 2-0, and Harbour View and Portmore played to a goal-less draw.
