Harbour View stretched their lead atop the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) following a 1-0 win against Arnett Gardens at the Harbour View Stadium in East St Andrew yesterday.

Brian Brown netted the all-important goal in the 34th minute for a league leading 10th goal of the season.

The win moved the defending RSPL champions Harbour View onto 33 points, six clear of second placed Montego Bay United, who were held to a 1-1 draw by third placed Humble Lion (21) at Effortville Community Centre in May Pen, Clarendon.

Shocked fourth placed

In another game, bottom placed August Town shocked fourth placed Waterhouse (21) 1-0, courtesy of Nicholas Smith’s goal in the 51st minute. Sporting Central ambushed Tivoli Gardens 3-2 at the Edward Seaga Stadium.

Portmore United through a late double by Ricardo Morris in the 84th and 88th minute tagged Cavalier 2-0 at the Ferdie Neita Park in Braeton, St Catherine.

At the Collie Smith Complex in St Andrew, Boys’ Town defeated Rivoli United 3-1, courtesy of a brace by Andre Dawson in the 56th and 84th minute and Garfield ‘Muscle’ Gillespie (39th). Davion Garrison (56th) got the consolation for Rivoli.

The win was sweet revenge for Boys’ Town, who lost the first round match-up 1-0 at the same venue in November of last year. Boys’ Town pushed to 19 points, the same as Rivoli United in the 12-team league.
