Defending champions Harbour View have moved eight points clear atop the 2013-2014 Red Stripe Premier League’s standings following Match Day 16 yesterday.

Harbour View increased their lead after securing an away 2-1 victory against Tivoli Gardens and closest pursuers Montego Bay United dropped two crucial points.

As a result of the victory, Harbour View improved to 36 points, while second place Montego Bay United moved to 28 after they were held to a goalless draw by the visiting Boys’ Town at Wespow Park.

Meanwhile, Waterhouse resumed winning ways by beating Humble Lion 2-0 at the Drewsland Stadium to climb to third place on 23 points.

Humble Lion, who entered the day in third spot, have slipped to sixth on 21 points following the defeat.

Rivoli United edged last place August Town 2-1 at Prison Oval in Spanish Town to improve to fourth place.

In the other games, Cavaliers blanked Sporting Central Academy 2-0 at the Stadium East field, while Arnett Gardens, courtesy of a defender’s goal, beat second-from-the-bottom Portmore United 1-0.
