Tie keeps Harbour View in front of Points Standing.

UNDER 21:

The youngsters hit a snag in mid-week when two players were ejected in an ill-tempered lost 0-1 away to leaders Portmore United.

They were outplayed by a slick moving Waterhouse unit yesterday at Drewsland and duly fell behind 1-3 at the final whistle. Lawrence Smith now a marked man was fouled once too often in the box and his resultant penalty scored gave a short lived glimmer of hope at 1-2 after 78 minutes but the host would extend their lead just three minutes later.

In an exciting top of the table match-up both teams traded blows from the start as showers earlier left the surface with a silky finish on a heavy underfoot. Kavin Bryan drilled his markers constantly but failed to finish as his strike partner Gregg Taylor deflected the left-sided movement from Hyde Jr. into the net after 32 minutes to snatch the lead.

One of Garfield Reid’s telling runs forward allowed him too much time to shoot and won a fortuitous deflection from the head of a defender glancing it away from goalkeeper Dwayne Miller into the upper right hand corner to equalise in minute 42.

Locked at 1-1 at the beginning of the second half both teams wanted the lead and the homesters grabbed it when Miller came non-chalantly for a cross and Brian Wollestan snuck in between him and a defender to nod into an unprotected net in minute 78 to send the large home crowd into a frenzy.

Fabian Taylor one of three senior players to come off the bench along with Oniel “Bigga” Smith and Donald “ Foulie” Stewart took control of the game and Taylor missed a sitter after Hyde Jr had chipped a ball inside for him to leave the defence at his mercy. The advancing goalkeeper McCallum stranded at the edge of the box, Taylor’s lobbed drifted wide of the target as he shuck his head in despair.

Four minutes later he returned and was fouled just outside the area but got up to score a magnificent right-footer curling away from the custodian over the wall as the presence of heavy hitter Gregory Simpson beside the ball 24 yards away, left McCallum unsure and bewildered as Taylor celebrated his first goal this season in minute 86.
