Kavin Bryan becomes leading goalscorer with three goals from two games.

GAME 5:

Positive Vibes 3 Aigle Noir 2

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERAPositive Vibes of US Virgin Islands register their first victory of a 3-2 win over Aigle Noir of Haiti to finish third.

They came determined to leave the “Land of Wood and Water” with a victory attached to their name and as such they pushed forward into attack early to be rewarded when Captain, Ernest Baron got up to converted a penalty after 20 minutes.

Then the experience of Collister Fahie came to the fore when he outsmarted the Aigle Noir backline to beat the offside trap and lob over the head of the unrushing custodian La Paix Yves Edouard into the unprotected goal after 31 minutes.

Gifted with a surprise two-goal margin the confidence of the men from the Virgin Islands soared as the Haitian contingent looked unsure in possession and attack. It only got better initially in the second half as the substitute Daren Francis tapped home from close range in the 64th minute for what seemed a secure 3-0 lead.

Aigle Noir now faced with yet another stalk defeat, finally summoned up some attacking courage to score in the 85th and 89th minutes through substitute Weeklenky Bernard then Wedson Anselme to salvage some pride, while securing an acceptable looking 2-3 defeat.

GAME 6:

Harbour View FC 2 Centro Baber 0.

The eleventh minutes strike from the boot of Kavin Bryan to finish off a right-sided cross from Loxely Thomas was exactly what the Technical Staff needed, to go ahead of Curacao’s Centro Baber early.

Centro Baber had come closest to opening the scoring when a ball played across the goal was won by Kemmeth Kumst and he turned it onto the upright before it being cleared far upfield by Waugh. Then again after the goal was scored, when Perez slipped inside two defenders to head wide of the near post as it gazed at him from just 5 yards away.

With those scares behind them the host pressed forward to inflict another telling blow before halftime but that was not to be.

The hosts Harbour View FC who only had a 1-0 goal advantage aimed now to score more than two unanswered goals to win the Zone A and advance to the semi-finals and/or Finals.

It would take Oniel “Bigga” Smith’s 57 minute, right cross to baffle the goalkeeper as he hurried back into his goal, he was only good enough to deflect it from the fingers into back of the net for goal number 2.

The result means Harbour View Football Club advances to the semi-finals and has assisted in organising the start of the Competition in Zones A and B next weekend in some significant way in Jamaica
