A crowded stadium on Friday afternoon cheered on the immaculate gladiators as they trounced the “Red Brigade” in convincing style as they marched forward towards the first ever Coca-Cola League Championship title, with only three rounds to go.

The strong six point lead demanded that late surging Boy’s Town had to seek a victory in order to make any impression on the leaders after they stopped Waterhouse FC last week.  It was not meant to be as Harbour View were not in the mood to open that opportunity as they inflicted the first major blow midway the first half when midfielder, John-Ross Edwards smashed home the deflected attempt into the back of the goal from 15 yards.

Boy’s Town has much to thank custodian Carlloyd Evans for, as he shut-out the opposing attackers on two occasions in each half but had to give in when striker Andre Fagan deceived him twice. Fagan ran onto a simple pass just inside the left-side of the area before turning sweetly in a pivot he swirled the ball outside the far post before it curled back into the top right-hand corner kissing the nylon as it shimmied to the grass where it rested to register the second goal and Fagan’s eight for the season as second leading goalscorer.

Fagan returned in the second half to repeat the slick turn and kick play, this time it rebounded from the upright with the goalkeeper well beaten as the league leaders exhibited good team discipline with expert ball possession to seal the convincing victory.
