Harbour View Football Club will travel further east to host August Town FC at York Oval, St Thomas in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) round 22 on Sunday, starting at 3:30 p.m.

The Stars of the East are set to abandon their ground at least for one game in order to rest the playing surface at the Harbour View Stadium for the upcoming Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Championship Group 3 on March 21-25.

Harbour View will host Alpha United FC of Guyana, Defence Force Football Club of Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname’s Sporting Vereniging Notch.

“We played Waterhouse in the Red Stripe Monday Night Live game and there was a heavy downpour of rain before the contest. Hence, we decided to rest the field to prepare the surface for the tournament next month,” Clyde Jueridini, Harbour View FC’s general manager, told The Gleaner yesterday.

“It is also a chance for us to bring more of our supporters in the east to the game,” he said.

Both clubs will be transported to the game courtesy of sponsors the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC).

Defending champions Harbour View are currently in pole position on 37 points from 20 games in the 12-team RSPL standings. On the other hand, August Town are rooted at the bottom on 21 points from 21 games.
