Harbour View Football Club will host the second annual Peter Cargill Memorial Games at the Compound on Monday, April 16, 2007. In the 6pm three way curtain-raiser, Harbour View Masters oppose Pelicans and Waterhouse Masters team, and in the feature game at 8:00 pm a strong former Jamaica Nationals Select Team tackle a Camperdown High School Invitational Team.

The games are held annually to commemorate the death of former National player and National coach, Peter “Jair” Cargill. Coach Cargill died on April 16, 2005 in a tragic auto accident while he was the coach of the Waterhouse Football Club.

He played for Mountain View in the Minor (Under 16) League, Harbour View FC and Swallowfield in the National League before traveling to play international professional football in Isreal for three Clubs over seven years. Peter returned home to play again for Harbour View when he was invited to join Rene Simoes’s Reggae Boyz in 1997. “Jair” also represented Pelicans Masters in the Kingston and St.

Andrew Masters football league. Peter Cargill was the Jamaica Assistant Coach from 2000-2004, and was also the Head Coach of the Jamaica U-23 Olympic team. Locally, Cargill led Harbour View FC to the National Premier League 2000 title, the Jackie Bell KO crown, and the NPL second End-of-Round Final in 2000/2001.
