A poor start to the year from League leaders HVFC, meant succuming to the aggression of the vibrant Humble Lion at their home in Effortville Community Centre, May Pen in Clarendon.
In a bright start HVFC hit the crossbar early, from a scintillating 24 yards shot from midfielder, Andre Steele leaving the defenders and Damion Crooks stunned as it tipped the goals frame to go out.
Possession was evident but penetration lacking as the visitors wrestled with the unfamiliar bumpy surface as the crowd poured into the venue.
Humble lion had new designs on the outcome as they roared forward into attack causing many concerns to the unsure HVFC defenders as they chased the long balls from Goalkeeper, Crooks resulting in a few half chances at goal.
The first one, was hit against the upright as it rolled wide but Omar Walters made sure of his second attempt in the 65th minute, as he worked his way manfully through the centre of the defense barging by two opponents then blasting pass goalkeeper Dwayne Miller from the penalty spot.
HVFC tried to respond by scoring but did not show enough creativity and coordination to unravel the strong-man defensive unit of the Clarendonians, as it ended in favour of the lowly placed Club making a sudden rush up the tables.
