Harbour View FC jolted UWI FC’s Red Stripe Premier League title-winning ambitions with a 5-0 drubbing in a late kick-off on Monday night at the Harbour View Mini Stadium on Monday.

It was a night when the Stars of the East shone brightly – something they have done a lot of all season.

Harbour View started the onslaught as early as the fourth minute when Jorginho James exploded with a burst of light to guide the way.

UWI, sensing that the former four–time champions were on the hunt to enhance their lukewarm season with a telling performance, made good adjustment to inhibit Harbour View for the following 46 minutes or so.

But six minutes into the second half, the glimmer returned to the cheeks of the Star of the East when John-Ross Edwards added a goal. And then the floodgates were then wide open. Brian Brown (71st), Rojay Smith (77th) and James (83rd) put the argument beyond doubt.
It was a victory that was pleasing for all concerned, but for James, it was doubly special as he savoured Harbour View’s comprehensive win against UWI since his return from the MLS Combine.

“This is no idle victory for Harbour View. We underperformed somewhat last season and now heading into the championship round, the team has decided to use the third round as a launching pad and take positive measures to realise the objective,” he said after the win.

UWI coach Marcel Gayle conceded that Harbour View were deserving winners.

“Hats off to Harbour View as they played well. Nothing is to be taken from them but we had a very poor night, I must admit,” he said.
