Mexico’s Touluca FC had kicked off the Scotiabank CONCACAF Under 13 League Competition by winning 6-0, today at the 11am Final they dismissed their Zone A El Salvador counterparts with a crushing 4-0 scoreline.

Leaving absolutely no questions whatsoever, who are the champions in this inaugural tournament. Congratulations on an outstanding display of coordinated skills, technique and passing at pace, it was a lesson to be learnt. HVFC watched carefully with intent.
The third place playoff had the two leaders from our Zone B but today was the day for the Mexicans, as Aguilas UAS overturned the earlier scoreline and reversed the 1-0 victory, to snatch the bronze medals given. Montreal Impact were the more organized club throughout but failed on the day.
The fanfare, awards ceremony and formalities took place immediately after by the efficient CONCACAF Staff and volunteers for all to witness at centrefield, as the Mexicans celebrated.
Closing out the week long activities the Local Organisational Committee bused all eight contingents to a local traditional Restaurant “The Arroyo” for an all together Dinner, musical entertainment by the typically colourful attire of the 14 piece band, singers and dancers to entertain in regal Mexican style atop the balcony as dinner is served. Six different games in mini booths excite the youngsters, from basketball, futbol, marbles, rifle shooting, darts on balloons and throwing balls into milk bottles, all to win an array of gifts and prizes.
Four hours of bonding, laughing, playing and winning new experiences the 8 clubs boarded the buses back to the Fiesta Inn Hotel, for dinner and final goodbyes as tomorrow teams start departing for home and many sad facing will, for a short time only miss each other as new friends but will look forward to going home to more friends and off course family.
HVFC remains until Monday to catch the Copa Airlines flight through Panama with fond memories and sharing a life changing positive experience with a wonderful set of youngsters.
