HARBOUR View FC, the country’s most successful campaigner in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Championships with two wins, will host Group Three of the tournament at their Harbour View mini stadium March 19-26.

Teams and officials begin arriving on March 19, and return home on March 26. Group Three, like the other two groups, will comprise four teams each with all matches scheduled to be played on the same dates.

One in Puerto Rico and the other in Haiti, which also includes Waterhouse FC. At home Harbour View are in feverish preparation for their second challenge in the competition and are laying the foundation for success.

In so doing they will be calling on a number of talented players they have been nurturing for some time now.

The Sunday Observer begins its preview with a profile of teenager Martin Davis. The talented Davis, a 17-year-old midfielder who is an efficient passer of the ball, is among the young prospects upon whom Harbour View will bank their future advancement.

A young football talent with brains, Davis also plays for St George’s College in the Manning Cup.

A cub of the Harbour View Football Club from early, Davis, who is classified as special talent in the Harbour View rating system, admitted, “My ultimate ambition in life is to become a professional footballer and I am working towards that end.”

The well-mannered youngster from a St Andrew address did spend some quality time in the Valencia area in Spain while attending high school there at the invitation of the top Spanish and European football club Valencia CF.

Back home and continuing to hone his skills, Davis is expected to be a prominent member of Harbour View’s campaign in the upcoming CFU championships which kick off on Friday, with Harbour View opposing SV Notch in the feature game at 7:30 pm.

Two hours earlier Alpha United FC oppose Defence Force FC. On Sunday, March 23, Defence Force take on SV Notch before Harbour View FC host Alpha United, before the competition closes out on Tuesday, March 25, when SV Notch take on Alpha United at 5:30 pm before Harbour View face Defence Force two hours later
