Standout Harbour View player from last season, National girls under 17 and under 20 midfielder Khadija Shaw is now gearing up to start college in the USA next month.

The 17 year old Shaw who has been representing Jamaica at the international level since she was 14 is set to join fellow Jamaicans Trudy Carter [also an HVFC player] and Nicole Broderick at Nevarro College in Texas on a football scholarship where she will major in massage therapy.

Shaw who has been in Florida since late June has been getting much exposure to higher level women football playing for the Magicjack team.

She was invited to Florida by former Magicjack owner Dan Borislow who was impressed by her during a JIFFD training camp at his facilities in Florida with the national under 20 team last January.

Shaw was to be the first of a number of young Jamaican players Borislow had planned to import but the 52 year old Borislow died suddenly of a heart attack days after Shaw’s arrival in Florida to take up his offer.

Meanwhile Shaw who was named MVP of the Caribbean under 20 women champion in October 2013 last played for Jamaica at The CONCACAF under 17 champions in November 2013 but she says despite being overseas she is ready whenever Jamaica needs her.
