Jamaica Futsal head coach Theodore Whitmore has named a 10-member squad to contest the Caribbean Football Union’s Futsal Championships, which will be held in Cuba from Friday, January 22-26.

A five-member official group will also make the trip to the tournament, which will have Jamaica in Zone B, along with host Cuba, Guadeloupe and St. Maarten.

Zone A comprises Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, Curacao and Guyana.

All the games will be played at the Sala Polivalente ‘Kid Chocolate’ facility in Havana and the eight teams entered will be playing for two assured places and a chance to playoff for a third spot, in the CONCACAF Futsal Championships in Costa Rica from May 8-15.

The winner of each zone will play for the title, with the runners-up playing for third and fourth place.

Jamaica will open their account on Friday against Guadeloupe on, then play St. Maarten on Saturday, before closing the preliminary round against Cuba on Sunday.

The full delegation will depart the island on Wednesday.

Players: Anthony Marks, Edsel Scott, Ramone Sibley, David Swaby, Shavar Blake, Marvin Morgan, Mitchily Waul, Kemeel Wolfe, Jerome Haughton and Fabian Taylor.
