7:30am breakfast was served as the group of 18 players and 4 officials awoke to the earlier countryside sounds of the passing chickens roaming the property.

Bus came on time at 8:30am as driver Dennis took us to train at the Cayman Islands Football Association’s new artificial turf field and office. We were able to access Wi-Fi temporarily as our contact was unable to set it up yesterday; A much happier group now as all outstanding correspondences were made immediately and more smiles became more evident.

Fruits, snacks and re-hydration fluids were served, followed by baths and rest; A late lunch and planning for dinner then came as a Sunday treat was hatched. The boys were better settled, focused and working as units, we are getting ready for our own mini-tournament. An in-house small 4-a-side scrimmage tournament was scheduled, with our HVFC youths breaking up into teams & choosing to play as other countries. These included “Argentina”, “Brazil”, “Chile” and the “Netherlands”. The finals were between “Brazil” and “Argentina” and ended 1-1 in regulation time. Penalties followed and the winners to be declared as the shootout ended 3-3; Sudden death commenced. “Chile” wins third place the third place playoff against “Netherlands”, while “Brazil” are the champions.
