In a USL game between Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders, which consisted three of our former players (Rennico Clarke, Damion Lowe & Oneil Fisher) split between both teams, Damion ‘Chullups’ Lowe got on the score sheet for the first time just shy of the half break.

Seattle Sounders FC 2 (6-3-1, 19 points) recorded its first-ever road victory against Portland Timbers 2 (3-4-2, 11 points) with a 2-0 win in a match that saw four yellow cards and one red card. Goalkeeper Charlie Lyon recorded his second professional shutout, recording four saves to keep a clean sheet.

S2 defender Damion Lowe opened the scoring in the 38th minute. Jimmy Ockford flicked-on an Aaron Kovar corner, which found Lowe at the face of goal with only T2 goalkeeper Jake Gleeson to beat. Lowe made no mistake and put S2 on the board first.

Andy Craven jumped into the team-lead with his fifth of the season in the 55th minute, getting behind the T2 defense and lofting a shot over the rushing Gleeson. It nestled into the back of the net for the team’s second and final goal of the match.

T2’s Harrison Delbridge received a straight red card ejection following the match for dissent with head official Juan Colazo.

With the win, Sounders FC 2 advances to first places in the USL Western Conference ahead of the weekend league matches.

The two teams will face each other again in six days at Starfire Stadium in the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, May 27 at 1:00 p.m. PT. The match will be live-streamed on SoundersFC.com
